AutoWeek: The 2010 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost
Ford Eco Boost Forum - SENIOR EDITOR FOR NEWS BOB GRITZINGER: As I rocketed along our local freeway, the speedometer edging conspicuously close to three figures with surprising ease, I wondered aloud what the MKS with the red "S" would be like on the German autobahn. It seems that good when working through sluggish commuter traffic, good enough to make you wonder whether Lincoln doesn't have a world-beater here. This twin-turbo engine is that good, with power on tap from launch to light speed, easily able to haul this nearly 4,300-pound sedan down the highway with the ease and refinement typical of a good-size V8. And if you want more engagement, the paddle shifters are on the steering wheel for the taking.
While I suspect the suspension might get a little unsettled on the autobahn once the MKS speedo overran its 140-mph dial, at U.S. highway speeds, the car feels plenty planted and manageable, seemingly more so as speeds increase.
Inside, the car is a dreamboat with cushy comfort, an array of equipment (though that great-sounding THX audio system could use a touch more top end for the money), and an easy driving feel that seems it would soak up thousands of miles without complaint.
